About
cathy...
Cathy Hong is a professional genealogist with more than two decades of experience. She jokes that genealogy research suits her ADD and OCD, but it’s true: building a solid, foundational tree requires equal parts curiosity and intuition, and a singular focus on accuracy and confirmatory evidence.
She focuses on the New England, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions in the US, as well as the United Kingdom and Italy. She has worked on projects for clients whose families lived in, or emigrated from Italy, Canada, the United Kingdom, Greece, Slovakia, Poland, and Germany.
Cathy also specializes in genetic genealogy, with a solid rate of success in identifying biological family members, and helping clients break through genealogy brick walls using DNA test results.
Her undergraduate degree was in marketing management and her graduate degree was in Business Administration; much of her curriculum vitae comprises research and analysis, experience and skills which she brings into her genealogy work.
She is a member of the Genealogists.com, a professional trade organization, and is in the process of becoming accredited through ICAP GEN.

"More than once, the date or place data that I needed came from the beautiful book you did for me. My cousin was so inspired by the family information you gathered that he and his wife took a trip to Croatia and went to all the places mentioned in the book. Thank you, again." — Ronald Bowen, Roanoke, VA
"I love how human my great-uncle is now. People don't get erased -- their stories get to keep being told, not just if they have children. What a gift you are giving his memory!” — Meredith Rilley, New Fairfield, CT
